Pear Psylla
Cacopsylla pyricola

Adult pear psyllae inhabit pear orchards and nearby vegetation, moving between trees as conditions change. They feed by sucking sap from leaves and shoots, and females place eggs on pear tissue. Adults jump readily and fly to escape disturbance or locate suitable host plants. This species can overwinter as an adult, surviving cold periods in sheltered places.
