Northern Cricket Frog
Acris crepitans
Adults occupy sunny, vegetated margins of ponds, marshes, and slow-moving streams. They stalk and snap up small insects, spiders, and other invertebrates from low plants and damp ground. Males give a rapid clicking call that resembles the sound of two stones being tapped together.
