Little Black Carpenter Ant
Camponotus mus

Little Black Carpenter Ant adults inhabit warm, dry areas, nesting in soil, dead wood, and crevices beneath stones. They forage individually for honeydew, nectar, and small insects or other protein-rich remains. Although small, they can defend themselves with firm mandible bites and irritating formic-acid secretions.
