Common Grackle
Quiscalus quiscula

Adult Common Grackles are adaptable blackbirds found in wetlands, woodland edges, farms, suburbs, parks, and parking lots across much of eastern North America. They walk confidently on the ground, fly strongly, and feed on insects, seeds, grain, fruit, small animals, and human food waste. Males display by puffing their feathers, raising the bill, and giving harsh calls, while both sexes may mob threats near nests. A notable fact is that their glossy black plumage can shine purple, blue, or bronze depending on the light.
