Flatheaded Appletree Borer
Chrysobothris femorata
The adult flatheaded appletree borer is a metallic wood-boring beetle found around orchards, woodland edges, and other areas with broadleaf trees. Adults fly in warm sunshine, feed lightly on foliage, and search for suitable trees on which to lay eggs. Its iridescent green-bronze body can make it difficult to spot against sunlit bark and leaves.
