High Brown Fritillary
Fabriciana adippe

The adult High Brown Fritillary flies rapidly over sunny woodland clearings, bracken-covered slopes, and flower-rich grassland. Adults drink nectar from thistles, knapweeds, brambles, and other flowering plants, while females seek patches of violets for egg-laying. Its orange-brown upperwings are boldly patterned with dark markings, and the underside has silvery spots that help identify the species.
