Giant Pacific Chiton
Cryptochiton stelleri

Adults inhabit rocky Pacific shores, gripping firmly to exposed intertidal surfaces and nearby subtidal reefs. They roam mainly at night to rasp algae from rock with their radula. Despite their broad reddish girdle hiding much of the shell, they possess eight overlapping armor plates and are the largest chiton species.
