Giant Mudskipper
Periophthalmodon septemradiatus

The adult giant mudskipper patrols mangrove mudflats, tidal creeks, and brackish river margins, often moving over exposed mud between pools. It is a territorial predator that eats small crabs, insects, worms, and other fishes. Adults use powerful jaws, sudden lunges, raised fins, and wide-mouth displays during feeding and disputes. A notable feature is its dependence on moist skin and gill chambers, allowing it to remain active out of water as long as it stays wet.
