Dark-winged Fungus Gnat
Bradysia impatiens

Adult dark-winged fungus gnats inhabit humid woodlands, wetlands, houseplant soils, and greenhouses. They are weak but agile fliers, often hovering near damp substrate where females lay eggs. Adults are short-lived and may take small amounts of nectar or water, while their larvae cause the more significant plant-root damage.
