Scuttle Fly
Megaselia halterata

Adult Scuttle Flies occur around mushrooms, compost, leaf litter, and other moist organic habitats. They run quickly over surfaces and take short flights when disturbed, using nectar and other available liquids as food. Like other phorid flies, they have a distinctive humpbacked profile and often scuttle away before taking wing.
