Golden Spider Beetle
Niptus hololeucus
The adult golden spider beetle is a small, rounded beetle with a golden, hairy appearance and long legs that give it a spider-like silhouette. It lives in dry buildings, bird nests, and other sheltered places where it scavenges dried organic matter. Adults can fly to locate new food sources and hiding places. When threatened, it may tuck in its legs and remain still, resembling a small piece of debris.
