Painted Neb
Oxypteryx wilkella
Adult Painted Nebs inhabit wooded areas and sheltered vegetation, becoming most active around dusk and at night. They rest with their patterned wings folded, blending into bark, dead leaves, and other mottled surfaces. Adults take liquid food such as nectar when available, while their camouflage helps them remain inconspicuous between flights.
