Gaudy Sphinx Moth
Eumorpha labruscae

Adult gaudy sphinx moths inhabit forests, vine-covered clearings, orchards, and gardens across eastern North America. Active chiefly at dusk and at night, they hover at flowers to drink nectar with a long proboscis. Their broad patterned wings provide swift, controlled flight and make them strong pollinators.
