Cricket Bat Spider
Mangora acalypha
Adult Cricket Bat Spiders inhabit grasslands, hedgerows, gardens, and other open vegetation across much of Europe. They build neat orb webs among stems, waiting near the web for small flying insects to strike the silk. Their patterned abdomen and tucked resting posture can make them difficult to spot among vegetation.
