Snail
Cerion casablancae

This terrestrial snail occupies dry Caribbean scrub, often sheltering beneath stones, leaf litter, or vegetation during hot conditions. It feeds by scraping algae, fungi, and decomposing plant matter from surfaces. Most activity occurs when humidity is high, reducing the risk of moisture loss. Its tall, tightly coiled shell can be sealed against the surface as a defense during dry weather or danger.
