Green Hairstreak
Callophrys rubi
Adults inhabit sunny heathland, woodland clearings, scrub, and grassland where their caterpillar food plants grow. They drink nectar from small flowers and often perch with their wings closed, displaying a leaf-green underside. Unlike many butterflies, they frequently settle in shrubs and low trees, using their green camouflage to blend into foliage.
