Peacock Flounder
Bothus lunatus

Adult peacock flounders live on sandy and rubble-strewn seabeds around coral reefs in the western Atlantic and Caribbean. They bury or flatten themselves against the bottom, ambushing small fish, crabs, and shrimp. Their mottled pattern can rapidly match the surrounding seafloor, making a resting fish remarkably difficult to spot.
