Florida Cerith
Cerithium atratum

Adult Florida ceriths inhabit shallow coastal flats, seagrass meadows, mangrove areas, and sandy lagoons. They graze algae and organic film from sediment and plant surfaces, often leaving visible trails across the bottom. Their elongated, tightly coiled shell and closing operculum help protect them when exposed by changing tides.
