Mexican Turbo Snail
Turbo petraea

Adult Mexican turbo snails inhabit rocky marine shores and reefs in the eastern Pacific. They graze algae from hard surfaces, often moving most actively when conditions are cool or dim. The heavy, rounded shell and hard operculum let the snail seal itself tightly against predators and drying conditions.
