Thornback Ray
Raja clavata

Adult thornback rays inhabit coastal seas over sand, mud, gravel, and mixed seabeds. They hunt bottom animals such as crabs, molluscs, worms, and fish, often uncovering prey by stirring or probing the sediment. Large adults are recognizable by the line of stout thorn-like denticles running along the back and tail.
