Pacific Sea Nettle
Chrysaora fuscescens

Adult Pacific sea nettles drift and pulse through temperate eastern Pacific coastal waters, especially where nutrient-rich upwelling supports abundant plankton. They capture zooplankton, fish eggs, and small fishes with long, stinging oral arms and tentacles. Despite their delicate appearance, their powerful nematocysts can give swimmers a painful sting.
