Alfalfa Weevil
Hypera postica
Adult alfalfa weevils are small brown beetles found in alfalfa fields, field margins, and sheltered plant debris. They chew leaves and stems, with adults often feeding early in the season before laying eggs on host plants. The beetle can fold functional wings beneath its hard wing covers and may fly to new feeding sites.
