Rose-ringed Parakeet
Psittacula krameri

Adult rose-ringed parakeets are agile, long-tailed parrots found in open woodland, orchards, parks, farmland, and city greenery across their native and introduced ranges. They feed mainly on seeds, fruits, nuts, buds, flowers, and crops, using a strong hooked bill to crack and manipulate food. They are fast flyers, skilled climbers, and very vocal birds that make sharp screeching contact calls. A notable fact is that mature males usually show a distinctive rose and black neck ring, while females and young birds generally do not.
