Pinkfish
Holothuria edulis
Pinkfish is a tropical sea cucumber found on shallow sandy bottoms, seagrass beds, and coral-reef flats across the Indo-Pacific. It slowly grazes on sediment, extracting organic matter, bacteria, and tiny food particles with its feeding tentacles. Its pinkish-red body can darken or lighten with surroundings, and its tough skin contains chemical compounds that discourage predators.
