Knotweed Leaf Beetle
Gastrophysa polygoni
Adult knotweed leaf beetles inhabit patches of knotweed, docks, and related plants in open, sunny places. They use strong mandibles to cut rounded holes in leaves and can fly between host plants. Their compact, hardened wing covers protect the folded flight wings beneath.
