Zebra Finch
Taeniopygia guttata

Adult Zebra Finches inhabit dry grasslands, open woodland, and scrub across much of Australia. They forage mainly for grass seeds, supplementing their diet with insects, especially when feeding chicks. These social birds can breed rapidly after rainfall, taking advantage of sudden pulses of food and water.
