Mothercare Spider
Phylloneta sisyphia

The mothercare spider lives in shrubs, hedgerows, and grassy vegetation, where it builds an irregular three-dimensional cobweb. It waits beneath or beside the web before rushing out to wrap and bite trapped flies and other small insects. Females guard their egg sacs and provide exceptional care for their hatchlings. The species is named for this unusual maternal behaviour.
