Devil leafhopper
Ledra aurita
The adult devil leafhopper inhabits deciduous woodland and hedgerows, resting against tree trunks and branches during the day. It feeds on sap drawn from woody plants with its piercing mouthparts. When disturbed, it can leap suddenly and fly to another perch. Its angular, bark-patterned body and enlarged pronotum make it remarkably difficult to spot.
