Four-toed Hedgehog
Atelerix albiventris

Four-toed hedgehogs inhabit dry grasslands, savannas, gardens, and scrub, usually resting in hidden shelters by day. At night they forage through leaf litter for insects, worms, snails, and occasionally small vertebrates or fruit. They rely on a keen sense of smell and hearing to locate food in darkness. When threatened, they roll tightly into a spiny ball that is difficult for most predators to handle.
