Mottled Gray Carpet Moth
Cladara limitaria
The adult moth inhabits wooded areas, clearings, and brushy edges where its larval host plants grow. It is mainly active at night, flying in short, fluttering trips and resting flat against bark or other muted surfaces by day. Adults take in liquids with a coiled proboscis, while their gray patterned wings provide excellent camouflage when settled.
