Steel Blue Beetle
Ptosima undecimmaculata
Adults occur around orchards, woodland edges, and other areas with suitable stone-fruit trees. They fly readily in warm weather and feed sparingly on foliage or plant tissues before breeding. The adult's glossy steel-blue wing covers are marked with distinctive dark spots, giving it the appearance of a small jewel beetle.
