Pompano
Trachinotus ovatus

Adult pompano range through coastal waters over sandy bottoms, reefs, and open shallows. They feed on small fishes, crustaceans, molluscs, and other invertebrates picked from the water column or seabed. The species is a powerful, fast-swimming jack relative, recognizable by its deep body and long sickle-shaped fins.
