European Mole Cricket
Gryllotalpa gryllotalpa

European mole crickets inhabit moist soils in grasslands, gardens, farmland, and riverbanks. They excavate branching underground tunnels with enlarged forelegs, hunting small invertebrates while also feeding on roots and plant material. Adults are mostly nocturnal and may fly to disperse. Males produce a loud chirping call from burrow entrances to attract mates.
