Mulsant's Water Treader
Mesovelia mulsanti
Adults inhabit still or slow-moving freshwater, especially where floating plants provide cover and resting places. They run lightly over the water surface and hunt small insects caught at the surface or among vegetation. A piercing rostrum allows them to feed on soft-bodied prey. Winged adults can fly to disperse between suitable pools and wetlands.
