Kaiser's Spotted Newt
Neurergus kaiseri

Adults inhabit rocky, seasonal streams and pools in a very small region of the Zagros Mountains in Iran. They forage in the water and beneath damp stones, taking insect larvae, small crustaceans, worms, and other invertebrates. The bold orange-and-black spotting makes this critically endangered newt one of the world's most distinctive amphibians.
