Red-backed Poison Frog
Ranitomeya reticulata

Adults inhabit humid lowland Amazonian rainforest, especially around vegetation that holds small pools for their offspring. They actively search the forest floor and plants for ants, mites, and other tiny invertebrates. Alkaloids obtained through their diet contribute to toxic skin secretions, while the bright red back and dark reticulated pattern warn potential predators.
