Ocellated Spinytail
Uromastyx ocellata

The ocellated spinytail inhabits arid rocky plains and desert slopes in northeastern Africa and the Arabian Peninsula. It is primarily herbivorous, browsing leaves, flowers, seeds, and other available desert vegetation. Adults shelter in burrows and rock fissures, often basking nearby before retreating from danger. Its stout, spiny tail is used as a defensive deterrent when an attacker presses too close.
