Poor cod
Trisopterus minutus
Adult poor cod live in shallow coastal seas and offshore waters, usually close to the bottom or around rocky ground. They feed on crustaceans, worms, molluscs, and small fish, taking prey with a rapid jaw snap. Despite its name, this small cod relative is an important food fish for larger marine predators.
