Ennomos alniaria

Canary-shouldered Thorn

This nocturnal moth inhabits deciduous woodland, hedgerows, and gardens with suitable broadleaf trees. Adults rest with their pale, leaf-like wings closed and fly after dark to find mates and nectar sources. The yellow shoulder patches that give it its name are usually concealed when it is at rest.
