Purple-Barred Yellow
Lythria cruentaria
This small day-flying moth inhabits sunny heathland, flower-rich grassland, and woodland edges. Adults visit flowers for nectar and fly low and swiftly through vegetation during warm daylight hours. The bright yellow wings, crossed by purplish bars, are a distinctive warning-like pattern despite the moth being harmless.
