Australian King Parrot
Alisterus scapularis
Australian king parrots inhabit rainforests, wet sclerophyll forests, and wooded gardens along eastern Australia. They forage mainly in trees for fruit, seeds, berries, buds, and flowers, using their stout bills to handle tough plant foods. Adult males are strikingly red-headed and red-breasted with green wings, while females are predominantly green with a red belly.
