Foxface Rabbitfish
Siganus vulpinus
Adults live around coral reefs, lagoons, and rocky coastal areas of the western Pacific. They spend much of the day grazing algae and seaweeds with their small, beaklike mouths. When threatened, they raise venomous dorsal spines and display a stark warning pattern. Their algae feeding can help keep reef surfaces from becoming overgrown.
