Cuban Cichlid
Nandopsis tetracanthus
Adult Cuban cichlids live in Cuban freshwaters, including rivers, ponds, and sluggish vegetated channels. They are opportunistic predators that eat aquatic insects, crustaceans, small fish, and other available prey. Adults are notably territorial, especially during breeding, and use flared fins and forceful chases to drive rivals away.
