Pele's murex
Homalocantha anatomica

Adult Pele's murex live on rocky and coral-associated seafloors in Hawaiian waters. This slow-moving predatory snail feeds on other shelled invertebrates, rasping and drilling with its radula to reach soft tissue. Its sturdy, sculptured shell provides strong protection and helps it blend into uneven reef habitat.
