Eastern Long-necked Turtle
Chelodina longicollis

Eastern Long-necked Turtles live in freshwater rivers, swamps, dams, and temporary wetlands across southeastern Australia. They forage underwater for insects, crustaceans, tadpoles, fish, and carrion, extending their unusually long neck to seize food. When threatened, they can release a strong-smelling musk from glands near the shell as a defence.
