Pallid-winged Grasshopper
Trimerotropis pallidipennis

Adults inhabit dry grasslands, desert margins, and other open habitats with scattered vegetation. They browse on grasses and forbs, then launch into flight when disturbed. Their pale hind wings are flashed during escape flights and can make a sudden takeoff difficult for predators to track. Adults rest on bare ground where their cryptic patterning conceals them.
