Six-toothed Bark Beetle
Pityogenes chalcographus

Adult six-toothed bark beetles inhabit spruce forests, especially trees weakened by drought, wind damage, or disease. They bore through bark to create breeding galleries, while adults may also feed on inner-bark tissues. Despite its tiny size, this beetle can disperse by flight and may become a serious forest pest when many suitable host trees are available.
