Downy jumping spider
Attulus pubescens
The adult downy jumping spider lives on walls, tree trunks, rocks, and vegetation in warm, open places. It actively stalks flies and other small arthropods, then closes in with a rapid leap. Dense hairs give this small spider its downy appearance. Its exceptional vision helps it track prey and precisely measure jumping distance.
