Lesser spotted dogfish
Scyliorhinus canicula

Adult lesser spotted dogfish inhabit coastal seas from shallow bays to deeper continental-shelf waters. Mostly active at night, they use their sensitive senses to locate bottom-living fish, crustaceans, and cephalopods. Females lay tough, rectangular egg cases that are often called mermaid's purses.
