Golden-Spined Carpenter Ant
Camponotus fellah

Golden-Spined Carpenter Ants inhabit warm, dry regions, nesting in soil, beneath stones, and in sheltered crevices rather than excavating sound wood. They forage for sugary honeydew, nectar, and small insects, using their mandibles to handle food and defend themselves. Like other formicine ants, they can use formic acid as a chemical defense when threatened.
